There will also be two required Saturdays determined by intern availability once internship has begun.
Candidates embrace a commitment to strengthening their families and communities despite facing formidable life challenges, such as economic and family responsibilities. Each year, 11 outstanding San Francisco Unified School District juniors are provided $10,000 each to fund tuition and/or education-related expenses.
The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund provides financial support for students who are active and emerging organizers in progressive movements for liberation, self-determination and social and economic justice in their communities. These need-based scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled at a college or university or in a trade or technical program.
Applications are available in January of each year until April 1 and should be completed and submitted online.
10,000 Degrees provides scholarships to individuals with significant financial need who exhibit a strong desire to go to college, and who have the perseverance necessary to graduate from college and accomplish their educational goals.
Each year, the Maisin Scholar Award provides 75 high school seniors in SFUSD with as much as $3000 annually so they can pursue higher education and open doors to their dreams. The scholarship can be renewed at the same initial rate for a maximum of $12,000 and is available to scholars for up to six years.
Our application opens on November 1, 2022, and will close on February 17, 2023.
Students attending a 4-year institution receive $4,500 per school year. Students attending a 2-year institution will receive up to $2,250 per school year until they transfer to a 4-year institution, at which time they will be eligible for the $4,500 award per school year. In addition to scholarships, scholars are matched with a mentor and have access to other resources designed to support them on their college journey and beyond. Once in college, scholarships can be renewed based on specific eligibility requirements.
Balboa students are eligible to apply to this year’s Awesome Fund Grant. This link covers expectations and an overview of the grant. The Awesome Fund provides registered high school clubs with financial support for projects that help students enhance their community, keep students involved in school, and/or provide students with a more meaningful educational experience. Students can apply for a grant of $100 to $1,000.
If there is any interest in applying, students should start to consider what kind of project would positively impact their club the most and how much funding they’ll need to get it started.

Kindergarten to College is both automatic and universal. When a student enters kindergarten in San Francisco Unified School District, K2C automatically opens a deposit-only savings account in the child’s name at Citibank with a starter deposit of $50 in each account. There is no paperwork to fill out, and the program does not use social security numbers. For some families, their account with K2C is their only formal bank account with a financial institution.
This scholarship is for students graduating high school or who are currently in college or trade school who live in Alice Griffith, Potrero Terrace Annex, Hunters View, or Sunnydale.

Kode With Klossy camps are a series of FREE 2-week coding-intensive camps designed for students of traditionally underrepresented genders in the STEM fields. Our best-in-class curricula aim to not only teach students the fundamentals of coding, but spark a lifelong passion for STEM. Scholars will complete the program with a new skill set and an incredible community of inspiring alumni to learn & grow with.

Rising STEAM Institute (RSI) is a program dedicated to empowering female-identifying and gender expansive high school-aged students to pursue their passion for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics).
The BIPOC Early Educator Pre-Apprenticeship Program is designed to help increase the number of Black & Pacific Islander early educators in San Francisco. The program aims to improve educational and developmental outcomes for Black and Pacific Islander children and build a strong system of Black and Pacific Islander educators in the ECE field.

The program is four weeks long, and for high school-aged youth between the ages of 14-18 from San Francisco and across the Bay Area. Participants will develop skills in video and audio production within a collaborative environment and apply those skills to develop a short video project tied to an environmental justice theme.
Sessions start on July 7th – August 1st. Class meeting days are Monday through Friday from 1 – 4pm in San Francisco.
Queer Belonging Backpacking Adventure is a paid outdoor program from June 13th to June 29th. This program is for high school aged youth who identify as Queer, Trans, Black Indigenous and People of Color. During the program, we will explore the themes of Queer belonging through community building, discussions, art, and outdoor adventures including backpacking, camping, and learning in nature. Participants will develop a deep sense of belonging within the affinity group and a connection to natural spaces. This program helps to create a safe space in which youth can connect on what it means to be QTBIPOC and learn how to advocate for more welcoming and inclusive spaces for all.
Students will learn how to build multiracial solidarity and address anti-AAPI hate, gender-based violence, violence against queer and trans communities. Through workshops and events, they will engage in community conversations, create curriculum, and facilitate cultivate agency and awareness in their peers. The Collective also offers workshops to the wider Bay Area community on a range of topics.
The program includes academic support, college application support, leadership development, monthly workshops devoted to college admissions processes and social justice.
Supporting Transitions & Aspirations Mentorship Program (STAMP) supports Asian and Pacific Islander (API) high school sophomores and juniors in their transition to college and careers by pairing them with an adult mentor for monthly 1:1 guidance and support. The program includes college application support, college tours, leadership development, weekly workshops devoted to college admissions processes and financial literacy, and a service learning project. The program also focuses on leadership development and social justice. This program brings together youth from across the city and is excellent for API students who will be the first in their families to attend college.

MNHC offers sensitive, respectful and non-judgmental services that are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL for all young people of all genders from ages 12 to 21. At the Shotwell site there is a Teen Clinic area made just for youth. Bilingual services offered cover physical, mental, emotional, sexual and reproductive health. If you are a young person over the age of 12, you can register for services on your own.
The following Teen services are free and confidential at the Shotwell Clinic and Excelsior Clinic. Our main Teen Clinic is located at the Shotwell site, 240 Shotwell Street, San Francisco, CA.

Wu Yee is open and currently enrolling for on-site services for children and pregnant women at their Early Learning Centers, Family Child Care Centers, and Home Visiting services. Wu Yee believes nothing is more essential than excellent child care and education for all children. They partner with parents, organizations across San Francisco, and individuals who are willing to provide a network that strengthens and connects a diverse, resilient community around the children.
