JCYC launched the Thomatra Scott Scholarship Fund in February 2021 in honor of Black History Month, with the goal of helping Black youth seek higher education and supporting their future aspirations. Thomatra Scott, better known as “Scotty,” was an advocate for youth in education, housing, employment, human rights, prison reform, and racial justice. Scotty exemplified the values of peace, solidarity, and civic engagement.
